Raising silkworms: Feeding mulberry silkworms with mulberry leaves.
Cocooning: The mulberry silkworms start to form cocoons after four molts, and the whole process takes about 2 days.
Boiling cocoon: After the cocoon is formed, it is placed in boiling water to cook the cocoon and prepare it for silk extraction.
Reeling: The silk is processed and extracted from the cocoon to become the principle of silk weaving. A cocoon can extract about 1000 meters of silk. A number of silk threads drawn in this way are combined to become raw silk.
Weaving: The raw silk is divided into warp and weft after processing, and interwoven into silk fabric according to certain organization rules.
