Ironing silk requires special care, as silk is a delicate and easily damaged material. Here are the steps and precautions for ironing silk:

1. Preparation:
- Make sure the silk garment is completely dry. Wet silk is more susceptible to damage.
- Prepare a clean ironing board and iron with a temperature control function.

2. Iron temperature setting:
- Set the iron to the silk or wool (low temperature) setting, usually between 130 and 140 degrees.

3. Ironing surface protection:
- Do not let the iron directly contact the silk surface to avoid aurora or damage to the fiber.
- Place a clean damp cloth (preferably cotton or silk) on the silk garment as a protective layer when ironing.

4. Ironing tips:
- Dry the garment until it is 70% dry and then spray it with clean water evenly. Wait for 3-5 minutes before ironing.
- Use a gentle and smooth approach to iron, avoiding pulling or stressing the silk.
- Start ironing from the wrong side of the garment, which can reduce direct heat damage to the silk surface.

5. Ironing direction:
- Iron in the direction of the silk grain, do not push the iron back and forth.

6. Avoid over-ironing:
- Do not stay on the same area for too long to avoid yellowing or damage to the silk.

7. Post-ironing treatment:
- After ironing, let the silk garment cool naturally and avoid touching or wearing it immediately.

8. Storage:
- After ironing, hang the silk garment or fold it neatly to avoid new wrinkles.

9. Clean the iron regularly:
- Clean the bottom of the iron regularly to remove any residue to prevent damage to the silk during ironing.

By following the above steps and precautions, you can iron silk garments safely, maintain their beauty and extend their life.
