Chiffon products can be divided into silk chiffon and imitation silk chiffon. It is also a chiffon fabric. The fabrics woven from different raw materials are also very different. The texture and feel are very different, so the price difference is also very large.
Silk chiffon is woven from natural mulberry silk fiber. It has soft luster, soft texture, smooth feel, comfortable wearing, elasticity, coolness, breathability and good drape. However, the color will easily turn gray and light after being washed too much, so it is not suitable. Exposed to the sun (it will turn yellow), it is troublesome to take care of (it needs to be washed by hand), and its firmness is not good (the yarn is easy to stretch and the seams are easy to tear). Simulated silk chiffon is generally woven from chemical fiber filaments such as polyester and viscose. Snow textiles woven from viscose rayon are light, smooth, soft, and brightly colored. However, because the viscose silk has low wet strength and poor elasticity, it is prone to wrinkles and the bottom edge of the garment is easily deformed when worn. Compared with silk chiffon products, chiffon fabrics made of polyester filaments have a flatter fabric surface, stronger bones, better wear resistance and elasticity, are not easy to fade, are not afraid of exposure to the sun, and are easy to care for. The disadvantage is that they are not very shiny. It is soft, has poor hygroscopicity and air permeability, feels stuffy when worn, and is easy to strip when sewing and wearing. Most of the chiffon currently on the market is imitation silk chiffon.
